Same here. Except in my jed I get "\e[1;5". So that's probably the reason.

The thing with jed vs xjed might be a feature (I don't know anything
about terminal sequences). But the second issue I mentioned, that by
default in xjed Ctrl+Down makes the cursor go *up* and Ctrl+Up makes
the cursor go *down*, is certainly a bug.
