Hi Morten,

You are (partially) right.

For some reason, now DejaVu Sans Mono seems to work for me - but *both* from command line via -fn  *and* via .Xresources.

Other fonts (except for Source Code Pro) have the double spacing problem.

Another strange thing:

if I run it from command line via xjed  -fn "DejaVu Sans Mono" -fs 14 --- I get the right behavior. 

However, if I use:  xjed  -fn "xft:DejaVu Sans Mono" -fs 14  --- xjed ignores the -fs option and falls for font-size=12
