dfa cache files

Dear John and Jed users,

As building dfa syntax tables might take time, the result can be cached
in a "dfa file".

I wonder, whether these dfa cache files vary amongst different SLang or
Jed versions or whether it would be save to ship them with the Debian jed
package.

Also, I wonder whether there is a scheme similar to the precompiled
"*.slc" files, i.e. a cache file will only be used if it is newer than
the defining SLang file.

Sincerley
