Do you have sendmail installed? If not, then you will need to install
it or some other program that handles the delivery of the mail.
Traditionally on Unix systems, sendmail is used. On my debian system,
exim is used and /usr/sbin/sendmail is a link to it. All jed does is
pipe the formatted mail message to the sendmail program, which is
specified by the SendMail_Cmd variable in sendmail.sl.

I hope this helps.

On OS X Postfix is installed using "sendmail" as a synonym. ;) Postfix accepts most out-of-the-box sendmail commands. Do I have to edit sendmail.sl in any way? One of the three sendmail paths is valid on my OS X box!

mail.sl refers to "UCB_Mailer" which i have in /usr/sbin/Mail. How do I use it instead of sendmail? You write that sendmail is an "alternative interface". ;) TIA....
