Uhh. And I thought I checked them all... (JMR uploading is definitely a
nightmare.)

I kept them for backwards compatibility, but by now it seems you are right
and I should take out the *utils modes

So I have to update hyperhelp as well....  done

I had the same problem as well but thought it where fixed. Did you realize
it after updating sl_utils/bufutils? 

It works for me here, for the sake of security I did a "silent update" of
the sl_utils archives to my current working versions. So you might try with
the brand new sl_utils again.
