I've been thinking some more and it could be implemented completely script side just by layering over the window creation calls. So I don't think there's much need for built-in support apart from making sure all mouse window manipulation can be trapped in script and obviously having access to window resizing/movement.
Being able to minimise window ornamentation might be useful...
