I don't think that this is the point (could read it as attachment as well)
but I simply do not have the time to read it through to solve someone elses
problem...

However, you could first try starting jed with the -n option (i.e skipping
your jed.rc file and see if this helps.

If not, comment out parts of the file to isolate the problematic part.
