I tried that and with some chars like the small umlaut chars äöü it
works, but for the capital umlaut-chars and the ß, I get some graphical
chars.
What font did you use? For unicode, I use uxterm with the following
in my .Xdefaults file:
UXTerm*VT100*font: -Misc-Fixed-Medium-R-Normal--18-120-100-100-C-90-ISO10646-1
UXTerm*VT100*wideFont: -Misc-Fixed-Medium-R-Normal-ja-18-120-100-100-C-180-ISO10646-1
I put that in my .Xdefaults file:
Now I don't get only the two byte codes like <C3><BC> for ü displayed.
my settings are:
locale charmap
UTF-8
If I do a cat of the file in question I get the correct display.
But if I run jed the umlaut chars are displayed as two bytes
how can I check what font jed is using ?
Thanks,
