Ctrl-z and xjed 0.99.17.70

Hi all,
 
   I am testing on my laptop the .99.17 release of jed (against slang2), and
   I have to say that I found no problems at all modulo this little glitch... 

   If I start, say, xjed file.txt from a terminal, and after that I decide
   to send it in background with ctrl-Z and then bg, it didn't works.
   (Obviously, using xjed file.txt & works). It seems that xjed is trapping
   SIGSTP so that the shell did not see it... 0.99.16 works ok.

   I have a strange sensation that this happened lot of time ago... but I
   could not find any pointer. 

   Suggestions?
