Hi,

you can also try to place
   Tab_Always_Inserts_Tab = 1;
in your ~/.jedrc, probably best in the appropriate mode hook.

SYNOPSIS
  Configure the tab key

DESCRIPTION
 If this variable is non-zero, then the tab key will insert
 tab characters into the buffer.  It is possible to override
 this setting via a mode hook.
