[Jed-users-l] "chat mode"?

I am looking for a "chat mode" for jed.

I need two windows: 

Window 1: here I type my text lines and after ENTER this line is written
          to a fifo. 

Window 2: another fifo is read and its lines are displayed here

The write and read fifos are asynchronous: not every output generates an
input line or vice veras.

I have looked at shell.sh, but this is not what I want.

Any hints or example code?
