- Subject: [Jed-users-l] What is "rectangular" copy/paste?

Hello,
Simple question (i think): What is a "rectangular" copy and paste? For
example, in the Emacs bindings you get:
setkey("kill_rect",		"^XRK");
setkey("open_rect",		"^XRO");
setkey("copy_rect",		"^XRR");
setkey("insert_rect",		"^XRY");
setkey("string_rectangle",	"^XRT");
And there are similar bindings for CUA. What do these functions do?
Cheers,
Daniel.
