Another distro fix request, ispell/aspell/hunspell/...


One of the constant minor annoyances with Linux distros is the way they
switch preferred packages, sometimes seemingly at random.  For jed this
means that ispell often isn't available, although there is generally some
fairly compatible replacement (e.g. first "aspell", and now "hunspell" in
Fedora).

Would it be possible to make ispell.sl either adaptive (knowing some list
of common spell checking packages) and/or provide an escape mechanism (say
an ispell_cmd variable, rather like what compile mode does) to allow users
or distro package maintainers to override the built in default?
