In the corporate world, I'm now stuck with Outlook for my mail client.
But before that I just used to just use jed directly as my mail client
since there were fewer and fewer bits of Pine that I actually liked.

There are a few modes for dealing with mail aliases etc that are part of
the jed distribution. I don't know the current status of mime-handling
though.
