Alt-Y (yp_yank_pop) overridden by menu shortcut?

Hi,

my jed has recently begun to consider alt+Letter as shortcut into the
menu. This has made the yp_yank_pop function that used to be mapped to
Alt-Y unavailable. show key alt y now says "ESC y is mapped to the
keyboard macro @^[my".

I tried setkey("yp_yank_pop", "^[y"); in keybindings_hook but that
does not seem to have any effect.

What can I do here?
